NTUF cricketers vow competitive edge ahead of HEC Zonal Championship

FAISALABAD, Feb 12 (APP): The National Textile University Faisalabad (NTUF) cricket team on Thursday met Rector NTUF Prof Dr Muhammad Rashid Masood before proceeding to compete in Higher Education Commission (HEC) Inter-Universities Cricket Championship (Zone-I) and vowed its resolve to deliver a spirited performance in the prestigious tournament.
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) is hosting the championship in which leading university teams from across the zone are contesting for top honours and the NTU squad called on the rector to seek encouragement ahead of the event.
Addressing the players, Prof Dr Muhammad Rashid Masood urged them to play with passion, discipline and determination, stressing that competitive sports not only strengthen physical fitness but also shape character and nurture leadership qualities.
He advised the NTUF team to uphold true sportsmanship both on and off the field. The spirit of fair play reflects values of the institution they represent, he added.
He expressed confidence in the team’s potential and said that participation in national-level university competitions provides an opportunity to polish their skills, build confidence and promote a positive image of the university at academic and sporting forums alike.
Dr Zulfiqar Ali Raza, Dr Nasir Ahmad, Mian Adil, Sports Officer Imran Ali, Sajid Anwar and Public Relations Officer Sardar Parvez Akhtar were also present on the occasion and extended their best wishes to the players.
