RAWALPINDI, Oct 15 (APP):Owing to the effective anti-dengue measures taken by the Murree Administration, no new dengue case was reported in the district during the last 24 hours, according to the District Health Authority (DHA) on Wednesday.
Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, coordinated and vigorous actions are being carried out across the district to eliminate dengue breeding sites and curb its spread.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health, Dr Azhar Mehmood Abbasi, visited various areas of Angoori and Tret to review ongoing anti-dengue operations. Similarly, Deputy District Officer (DDO) Health and Population Dr Mian Nauman Shaukat, along with the Tehsil Health Inspector, Dengue Focal Person (Legal), and entomologist, inspected different localities of Musiyari, Numbal and Darya Gali.
The teams checked water reservoirs in houses, streets, and open areas and sensitised residents about preventive measures.
Likewise, DDO Health Dr Zulfiqar Satti, accompanied by his tehsil team, visited several locations and briefed citizens on necessary precautions to prevent dengue. Entomology teams conducted indoor and outdoor residual spray (IRS) and fogging operations in various parts of Murree to eradicate mosquito breeding sites.
Two premises were sealed for violating dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs).
According to the Health Department, a total of 116 dengue cases have been reported so far in Murree, but no new patients have surfaced in the past 24 hours.
DC Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi urged citizens to fully cooperate with the Health Department’s Sehat Muhafiz Dengue Teams, maintain cleanliness, and ensure that water does not accumulate in and around their homes.
He stressed that public awareness and cooperation were vital in eradicating dengue, adding that every citizen should play a responsible role by educating others on preventive measures to ensure the complete elimination of the disease.
