‘No helmet, no travel’ road safety campaign underway in Murree

RAWALPINDI, Jul 30 (APP): The City Traffic Police (CTP) Murree have continued their special road safety campaign “No helmet, no travel” taking indiscriminate action against motorcycle riders without helmets

“The CTP Murree have become active under the mission of ensuring safe travel of the public across Punjab as per the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the directives DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir,” the CTP spokesman said on Wednesday.

He said during the campaign, an indiscriminate crackdown was being carried out against motorcycle riders without helmets in Murree.

Meanwhile, Chief Traffic Officer Murree Waseem Akhtar said,”The use of helmets can save the precious lives of motorcyclists.”

He appealed to the public to strictly follow traffic rules and prove themselves as civilized citizens. He said that the safe travel of the public and the protection of their lives and property was the top priority of the City Traffic Police Murree.

He said the CTP Murree were making citizens aware that the use of helmets for motorcyclists was a lifesaver.

“Compliance with traffic rules is not only a legal requirement but also a moral responsibility of every citizen. We are taking action against violators without any discrimination so that the life of every citizen can be safe,” he added.

The CTO said the City Traffic Police were not only imposing fines but also running educational and awareness campaigns to raise public awareness so that road safety could be promoted as a collective responsibility.
