MULTAN, Jun 19 (APP):The 17th Syndicate meeting of Nishtar Medical University (NMU) approved most agenda items aimed at furthering academic and institutional development here on Thursday.
It was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Provincial Health Minister, Khawaja Salman Rafique, who attended the session online.
The session was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mehnaz Khakwani, Registrar Prof. Dr. Ahmar Hussain, Dean of Surgery Prof. Dr. Masood-ul-Roof Haraj, Medical Superintendent of Nishtar Hospital Dr. Rao Amjad Ali Khan, and others.
At the outset, Vice Chancellor Dr. Mehnaz Khakwani presented a comprehensive report on the university’s recent achievements and ongoing development projects. The minutes of the 16th syndicate meeting were formally approved, followed by detailed discussions on 34 agenda items.
Key decisions included the approval of the curriculum for MDMS and Human Nutrition Diploma programs, the initiation of the Pharmacy College, and the expansion plan for the Examination Department. The syndicate also approved the appointment of Deans in various departments, introduction of super-specialty programs in Gynecology and Orthopedics, and permission for undergraduate students to reappear in their examinations.
These developments mark a significant step forward in enhancing the academic infrastructure and educational standards at Nishtar Medical University, said a news release issued here.
