HYDERABAD, Nov 25 (APP): The Chairman Sindh Public Accounts Committee and President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said November 30 was an important day in the country’s history because of its everlasting contributions for party politics and parliamentary democracy.
He expressed these views here on Tuesday at a press conference and while addressing the workers of PPP’s Hyderabad division at the Rizvi House in Gulistan-e-Sajjad.
The workers had gathered at the house to discuss arrangements for the party’s upcoming 58th foundation day activities.
“Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (former Prime Minister and PPP’s founding Chairman) brought out politics from drawing rooms to the public and founded social democratic politics in the country,” he stated.
He apprised that the party would organize public meetings and rallies in all districts of the country on November 30 to mark the day while the PPP’s chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would address those gatherings online.According to him, all those events would start by 1 pm on November 30 and the party’s leader would deliver his speech by 3 pm.
Khuhro said the PPP had served the country not only on the political and democratic fronts but the party’s services for development and governance were also laudable.
He said the construction of 2.1 million houses for the flood and rain victims was a flagship project, adding that so far around 700,000 homes had been constructed.
The PPP Sindh’s President told that the government had fixed Rs3,500 procurement price for wheat while the provincial government had set a target of 1.2 million tons for the procurement.
He informed that the PAC Sindh had so far recovered 26 billion rupees. According to him, Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) had defaulted payment of Rs30 billion to the provincial government but the company had recently started paying the dues through Rs2 billion per month installments.
