SARGODHA, Jul 17 (APP):The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) issued a public advisory, urging motorists to exercise extra caution while driving in rainy weather.
According to a spokesperson for the National Highways and Motorway Police on Thursday,
rain makes roads slippery and significantly increases the risk of accidents.
People are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during rainfall. However, in case of traveling, drivers should reduce their speed and maintain a greater distance from the vehicle ahead.
It is also important to ensure that vehicle lights and wipers are functioning properly and the use of mobile phones while driving must be strictly avoided, and full attention should be given to the road, he said.
The spokesperson added that drivers, particularly tourists traveling to hilly areas, must be especially cautious. In case of any emergency or assistance, motorists could contact the NHMP Helpline at 130. The spokesperson emphasized that “Your safety is our top priority.”
