NHA vehicles auction concludes successfully, generating over Rs25.6m revenue

LAHORE, Nov 04 (APP):National Highway Authority (NHA) successfully concluded the auction of its used vehicles in Lahore, earning more than Rs25.6 million in revenue.
According to an NHA spokesperson, a total of 22 vehicles, including cars, jeeps, single and double-cabin pickups, and other types, were put up for auction. Of these, 21 vehicles were sold, while one vehicle remained unsold as its bid did not meet the reserve price.
The auction generated Rs25.642 million, which is 77 percent higher than the total reserve price, reflecting strong public participation and interest. As many as 74 bidders took part in the auction, which was described as lively and competitive.
The auction proceedings were supervised by a committee comprising the General Manager (Lahore Region), Deputy Director Audit (Headquarters), Deputy Director Maintenance (Lahore), Deputy Director Accounts (Lahore), and Deputy Director Transport (NHA Headquarters).
The spokesperson added that the purpose of the auction was to dispose of surplus and unserviceable vehicles in order to generate revenue for the government. This auction marks the beginning of a month-long nationwide series, during which approximately 170 vehicles will be auctioned in different cities.
Following the successful Lahore auction held on November 4, the next rounds will take place as follows: Faisalabad on November 6, Multan on November 10, Peshawar on November 13, Abbottabad on November 17, Gilgit on November 20, Burhan on November 24, Sukkur on November 27, Karachi on December 1, Quetta on December 4, and Islamabad on December 9.
The spokesperson added that the Lahore auction exceeded expectations, both in terms of participation and bids received, and expressed confidence that the upcoming auctions will achieve similar encouraging results.
