RAWALPINDI, Mar 04 (APP): Police have arrested a husband and wife allegedly involved in a two-member honey trap gang and recovered Rs380,000 and a mobile phone looted from a citizen.
According to police spokesman, the accused targeted a Spain-based Pakistani citizen by luring him into a fake marriage arrangement. The suspects allegedly called the victim under the pretext of solemnizing a marriage and even arranged a fraudulent nikah through a fake cleric to deceive him.
Police said the victim was later deprived of Rs380,000 and his mobile phone. Acting swiftly on the citizen’s complaint, New Town Police registered a case and traced the suspects using technical and human intelligence methods.
Both accused have been taken into custody, while raids are underway to arrest other accomplices and facilitators involved in the case.
