RAWALPINDI, Jul 14 (APP):Newly-appointed Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree Waseem Akhtar on Monday assumed charge
of his office.
CTO Waseem Akhtar held a meeting with Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Murree Ghazi Sohail Shahzad
and DSP Traffic Headquarters Azmat Hayat.
He also took a round of all the main roads of Murree city, and conducted surprise checking of traffic wardens and appreciated them for performing duty in a better way.
CTO Wassem Akhtar, while talking to the staff posted at Traffic Headquarters, Sunny Bank, asked them to deal with citizens in a polite manner, especially women and senior citizens.
He said the City Traffic Police being a disciplined force, should enforce the law within its jurisdiction.
The CTO also appealed to the public to follow traffic rules to make their lives and those of their loved ones safe and
prove themselves to be civilized citizens.
He affirmed the commitment, “We will soon make Murree accident-free and prove that City Traffic Police Murree is the best force in Punjab.”
He said the next week would be observed as an “Accident Prevention Awareness Week”.
“Maintaining traffic flow in Murree city is our top priority. We will ensure the implementation of traffic rules by making the public adhere to the lane rules,” he added.
