Nawaz sharif cardiology hospital inauguration arrangements reviewed

SARGODHA, Jan 10 (APP):A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Adviser to CM Punjab on Health Major General (R) Azhar Mahmood Kayani regarding making the under-construction Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha functional next month.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Punjab Azmat Mahmood, Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali, Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Muhammad Waseem, members of the Board of Governors, Dean Dr. Muhammad Waris Farooqa, member of the Monitoring Team of the Chief Minister Punjab Atiq-ur-Rehman and concerned officers.  The meeting reviewed in detail all administrative, medical and technical matters to make the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology operational next month. The meeting was informed that the process of recruitment of doctors, paramedical staff and other staff for the hospital is underway, for which candidates have been called for interviews from January 14 to 16.

The meeting was also given a detailed briefing regarding the applications received, initial scrutiny, formation of the selection board and transparent recruitment procedure. The participants were informed about the formation of various committees, division of responsibilities, operational plan, administrative structure and details of the departments that will be functional initially. It was further informed that all the necessary systems have been finalized for the launch of the hospital so that timely and quality heart treatment facilities can be provided to the public.

Addressing the meeting, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Health Major General (R) Azhar Mahmood Kiani said that Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology is an important project for the people of Sargodha Division, which is being completed and made fully functional within the stipulated time. He directed that merit and transparency should be ensured in all matters including recruitment and no effort should be left unturned in providing modern facilities to the patients. Secretary Health Punjab Azmat Mahmood while addressing the meeting said that the health department is utilizing all resources to make the hospital functional. He assured that all requirements of medical equipment, human resources and administrative support will be fulfilled in a timely manner.

Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali said that the district and divisional administrations are providing full cooperation in the process of functioning of the hospital and all the concerned institutions are working in close coordination. Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Captain (R) Muhammad Waseem informed the meeting that all administrative steps are being completed on time at the district level so that there is no obstacle in the commencement of the hospital.

 Earlier, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Health Major General (retd) Azhar Mahmood Kayani also paid a detailed visit to the under-construction Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology. He inspected the various departments on all seven floors of the hospital for more than two hours. He was informed that the hospital building has been completed, modern machinery has reached the hospital while the process of installing furniture, beds and other equipment is in full swing. On this occasion, CEO Hospital Dr. Waris Farooqa and IDEP engineers gave a detailed briefing on the progress of the project, medical equipment, infrastructure and remaining works. Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing works, the Health Advisor directed that all the departments be completed as soon as possible and the hospital be made functional as per the schedule.
