KARACHI, Jul 25 (APP): Sindh Minister for Energy and, Planning and Development, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, inaugurated the 7th ISEM Pakistan Solar Exhibition and Conference at the Expo Centre Karachi on Thursday.
The 3-day exhibition is aimed at promoting awareness, fostering industry collaborations and driving the adoption of solar energy technologies across Pakistan with a focus on sustainable energy practices and it has drawn the participation of various leading solar companies showcasing their innovative products and solutions.
Nasir Shah, speaking at the inaugural ceremony, highlighted potential to catalyze growth and development in the renewable energy sector and reiterated government’s commitment towards creating an enabling environment for sustainable energy initiatives, encouraging private sector investment and promoting technological advancements in solar energy production and distribution.
Sindh government has planned to establish solar parks for enhancing power generation capacity as well as adding up more electricity to the national grid, the Sindh energy minister stated adding that the initiative was aimed at providing up to 100 units of free electricity to consumers in the province.
Expressing discordance to the idea of taxing the solar power Shah maintained that the province of Sindh was rich in natural resources particularly in the energy sector and it offers viable opportunities for domestic and foreign investment in the sector.
The Solar Exhibition serve as a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and researchers to exchange ideas, discuss emerging trends and explore avenues for collaboration while visitors to the exhibition could explore a wide range of solar products and solutions, including solar panels, inverters, energy storage systems and solar-powered appliances, he noted.
The companies participating in the exhibition are showcasing their latest advancements in solar technology, highlighting the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of solar energy solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
