ABBOTTABAD, Jul 30 (APP): A NADRA Registration Office has been formally inaugurated in Bakot to provide essential registration services to the residents of Circle Bakot and adjoining areas, significantly reducing their dependence on traveling long distances to Abbottabad city.
Located at the historic site of Kohala, the office aims to deliver services at the doorstep of citizens from Union Councils Bakot, Namal, Berote, and Pulak Patan Kalan, as well as benefiting travelers and tourists commuting between Rawalpindi and Azad Kashmir.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi, former MPA Sardar Fareed Khan, Director General NADRA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khalid Inayat Marwat, and Regional Director NADRA Hazara Division Faheem Abbasi. The event was hosted by Chairman Bakot Hossam Jamshaid Abbasi, with Danish Tanveer Abbasi serving as the stage secretary.
Notable participants included Shoaib Abbasi, Sardar Sohail (Program Coordinator of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program), Chairman Abdul Jabbar Advocate, Chairman Farooq Abbasi, Chairman Saifullah Abbasi, Nadeem Abbasi, former Motorway Police Inspector Gul Anar Abbasi, and former district council member Khalid Abbas. PML-N leaders from Azad Kashmir, including Sardar Tasleem Abbasi, Mazhar Ahmad Raja, and Naeed Khan, as well as PML-N Abbottabad General Secretary Zulfiqar Javed Abbasi and Sardar Hanif, were also present.
Speaking at the occasion, Murtaza Javed Abbasi emphasized the federal government’s commitment to providing civic services to remote communities, announcing plans for a major hospital in Kohala with Punjab government’s support and road development from Kohala Bridge to Kanir Bridge.
DG NADRA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khalid Inayat Marwat stated that establishing the office was part of NADRA’s broader strategy to extend services to remote areas. Regional Director Faheem Abbasi briefed attendees on the office’s operations, noting that it has been set up at a central location in Kohala based on merit and community consultation, and that local residents have been hired for staffing, including a female Assistant Director from Hotrol, Berote.
Chairman Village Council Bakot, Hossam Jamshaid Abbasi, expressed gratitude to the federal government and NADRA leadership for fulfilling the longstanding demand of the local community, ensuring convenience for thousands of people who previously faced difficult travel to access basic services.
