LAHORE, Oct 09 (APP):National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has digitised the entire system of obtaining identity cards and other documents through its innovative Pak ID mobile application.
NADRA local chapter sources told APP that the Pak ID mobile app has changed the way identity services are provided to the public. Citizens can now apply for their identity cards, family registration certificates (FRC) and other documents from the comfort of their homes.
He said that in just three months, more than 1.2 million applications have been received through the Pak ID app, while more than 10 million citizens have downloaded the app so far, making it one of the most used and trusted public services in the country.
NADRA sources said that citizens can also do biometric verification, upload documents and track applications directly through their smartphones. An average of more than 10,000 cases are being handled through this app every day, which has significantly increased public convenience.
Through Pak ID app, NADRA has seen a 45 percent increase in digital applications, which is proof that the public is rapidly migrating to the digital identity system.
This new digital facility of NADRA is taking Pakistan a significant step forward towards e-governance through modern technology.
