PESHAWAR, Sep 24 (APP): National Accountability Bureau and the Department of Health decided to take a briefing from the higher authorities for awareness on health-related issues.
Secretary Health, Secretary Finance, Secretary Establishment and Chief Executive Officer Health Care Commission, DG Health were summoned to NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for a briefing on September 27.
For the briefing, the procurement procedure for health workers, medicines and other items will be reviewed across the province. The procedure for local procurement and MCC, the procedure for technical evaluation of procured items, the role of drug testing laboratory, procedure for storage of procured items would also come under discussion.
The procedure for the formation of a physical inspection committee for pharmaceuticals, the baseline for the schedule of hospitals’ requirements will be considered, the NAB letter issued to the health department said.
Rules related to monopoly items, procedures for disposal of expired items, and steps taken for computerized records of dispensed and stored drugs will be reviewed during the briefing.
There will be a discussion on the level of competence of the staff working on electro-medical equipment and the method of monitoring this equipment. The issues related to measures to increase the income of pharmacy, and pathology in hospitals will be discussed during the briefing.
