SUKKUR, Oct 25 (APP):The hearing of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference against PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah was held at the Accountability Court in Sukkur here on Saturday.
The court was attended by Syed Khursheed Shah, Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Owais Qadri, and MPA Syed Farrukh Shah, along with 15 other individuals named in the reference.
NAB Sukkur presented the final reference of Rs 190 million after 6 years, replacing the initial provisional reference of Rs 1.23 billion filed in 2019.
Syed Khursheed Shah’s lawyer, Advocate Mukesh Kumar, argued that the case should be closed after the final charge sheet was presented. He stated that NAB Sukkur took 70 months to file the final reference and that all assets were declared in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and during election nominations.
The lawyer claimed that NAB had overvalued agricultural land, jewelry, and properties to create a reference of Rs 1.23 billion. He emphasized that Syed Khursheed Shah’s assets were legitimate and not beyond his known sources of income.
The court adjourned the hearing until October 27 for further arguments on the final charge sheet. The lawyer expressed hope that the case would be concluded in the next hearing.
