LAHORE, May 21 (APP):A delegation of women officials from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Wednesday.
The delegation was received by the Operations Commander of Safe City, who took them on a comprehensive tour of various departments and provided detailed briefings on the operations and systems in place.
During their visit, the NAB officials observed the city-wide surveillance operations through the cameras in the Operations Control Room. They were given insights into the Intelligent Traffic Management System and the Electronic Challan system, which are part of the city’s efforts to enhance traffic control and safety. Additionally, the delegation reviewed the functioning of the Virtual Women Police Station, the Child Safety Centre and the Blood Bank system, all of which are integrated into the Safe City infrastructure.
A key highlight of the briefing was the introduction of the Safe City Crime Stopper service, which allows citizens to report crimes without revealing their identities. The delegation was also briefed on the use of advanced Artificial Intelligence technology, which is playing a crucial role in effective crime surveillance and prevention.
The delegation acknowledged the significant success achieved in crime control with the establishment of Smart Safe City Centers across Punjab. They noted that the modern policing system has led to a positive transformation in the police culture, a shift that was evident during their visit.
NAB officials expressed their appreciation for the transparency and overall performance of the Safe City Authority, commending its efforts in maintaining high standards of security and efficiency across its various departments.
