LAHORE, May 31 (APP):The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore, under the leadership of Director General Muhammad Ahtram Dar, held its monthly open hearing at its Lahore office.
According to NAB’s spokesperson, a large number of affectees from various illegal housing schemes and fraudulent investment operations attended the session.
The session served as a platform for aggrieved citizens to present their complaints regarding various scams, including the Future Vision investment scandal and fraudulent dealings in Al-Rehman Garden Phase-4, Omega Housing Society, New Lahore City, Khayaban-e-Amin, Formanites Housing Society, Elite Town, and Grand Avenue Housing Society.
During the hearing, the DG NAB listened to the public’s grievances with great attention and issued immediate directives for their resolution.
In response to complaints regarding the Future Vision scam, he ordered the initiation of a direct inquiry and directed that proceedings be launched to place the primary accused on the Exit Control List (ECL). He further instructed that a public notice be published in national newspapers to inform and caution the public.
Addressing the concerns related to Al-Rehman Garden Phase-4, the DG NAB gave the investigation team a one-month deadline to finalize the inquiry and submit a comprehensive report. For Omega Housing Society, he ordered the immediate resolution of issues raised by the complainants and demanded a progress report by the end of the day.
In the case of the Formanites Housing Society scandal, the DG NAB informed the attendees that NAB Lahore has facilitated recoveries amounting to over 47 percent of the actual investments for more than 2,200 victims.
He assured that all newly submitted claims will also be addressed upon judicial approval to ensure timely compensation.
Speaking about Elite Town Housing Society, he stated that the prime accused has already been apprehended and that a corruption reference is currently under trial in the honorable court.
He added that sincere efforts are underway to recover funds through a negotiated settlement with the society’s administration.
Regarding Khayaban-e-Amin Housing Society, the DG NAB disclosed that all losses suffered by the victims at the hands of accused Allah Ditta Heera have been reimbursed, and that efforts are actively ongoing to provide relief to the remaining victims associated with Sahir Associates.
NAB DG Muhammad Ahtram Dar reiterated that the NAB Chairman has issued explicit instructions to exhaust all resources for the speedy redress of public complaints.
He emphasized NAB’s firm commitment to citizen-centric reforms and announced the upcoming launch of a large-scale crackdown against illegal housing societies operating across the region.
He said that the Open Hearing initiative represents the practical vision of the NAB Chairman and reaffirmed NAB Lahore’s unwavering dedication to protecting public rights and eliminating corruption in all its manifestations.
