NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq visits Khanewal, offers condolences to Daha Family

KHANEWAL, Jul 15 (APP):National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday visited Daha House Khanewal to offer his heartfelt condolences to the Daha family on the passing of senior PML-N leader and former provincial minister Haji Irfan Ahmed Khan Daha.
Talking to media during his visit, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that given the current situation, indiscriminate and strict action against terrorists has become unavoidable. He said terrorist elements have been targeting innocent unarmed civilians, women, children, and youth, and there will be no leniency for them anymore. “It is the responsibility of the state to ensure protection of life and property of its citizens and robust, effective measures will be taken for this purpose,” he added.
The Speaker also fully endorsed the longstanding demand for the establishment of a university in Khanewal. He assured full support to MNA Muhammad Khan Daha (NA-145 Khanewal) for this initiative. “Education is the basic right of every citizen. Establishing higher educational institutions in underdeveloped regions like South Punjab is the need of the hour,” he said.
Responding to a question about Jamshed Dasti’s disqualification for holding a fake degree, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that he had received a reference supported by documentary evidence which had to be forwarded to the Election Commission of Pakistan within 30 days. “I also heard about it on my way to Khanewal,” he added.
Later, the Speaker met Muhammad Khan Daha and expressed his deep grief over the loss of his father, praising the late Haji Irfan Ahmed Khan Daha for his political, social and party services. He said that the deceased was a courteous and humble personality who always remained committed to serving the people and stood by the PML-N through every era.
The condolence meeting at Daha House was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Construction and Communications Rana Saleem Hanif, Suhail Sikandar Daha, District Police Officer Ismailur Rehman Kharak, Ahmed Khan Daha, Taimoor Khan Daha, PML-N District Vice President Mian Ikramullah Kamboh, District General Secretary Farrukh Khan Daha, Information Secretary Sheikh Tariq, Muhammad Abbas Coordinator, former Nazim Muhammad Anwar Jutt, Shahid Khan, Dr Shahid Hayat Daha, Mamoon Khan Daha, Ch Masood Makha, Qulzam Bashir Ahmed, Raheel Abbasi, Engineer Abdul Rehman Qulzam, Mirza Salahuddin, Nadham Mughal, Mirza Afzal, Muhammad Shafiq, Aamir Nasir, Muhammad Mumtaz, local party office-bearers, workers and a large number of notable political and social figures of the area.
At the end of his visit, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq offered Fateha at the grave of Haji Irfan Ahmed Khan Daha and prayed for the departed soul.
