HARIPUR, Nov 20 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for the NA-18 Haripur by-election, Babar Nawaz Khan Thursday has said that the real contest in the constituency is between the underprivileged citizens and the elite class.
Addressing a series of election gatherings in Haripur, Ghazi and Khanpur tehsils, he said he had always served the people and would continue the mission of his late father, whom he described as “the martyr of the people.”
Babar Nawaz Khan claimed that he had brought development projects worth Rs22 billion during his previous tenure and, if elected again, would launch new mega projects across Haripur. He added that the overwhelming public support from all parts of the district was a clear indication that November 23 would mark the victory of the lion, the election symbol of PML-N.
He said the PML-N government had completed major development schemes in the Hazara Division, including the Motorway and the Hazara Electric Supply Company, while opposing parties were only engaged in politics of allegations.
The PML-N candidate further alleged that a particular influential group had long controlled politics in the district and treated the public as subservient. In contrast, he said, his family believed in transparency, service, and the strength of the common people.
