RAWALPINDI, Nov 29 (APP): The Additional District and Sessions Judge in Rawalpindi on Saturday sentenced convicted murderer Tauseef-ur-Rehman to death for brutally killing a citizen with an axe.
The court also ordered the convict to pay Rs. 400,000.0 as compensation money to the legal heirs of the deceased.
The murder took place in December 2024 within the jurisdiction of Police Station Dhamial. Rawalpindi Police acted promptly, arresting the accused and building a solid case based on concrete evidence including medical reports, forensic analysis, and statements of eyewitnesses.
Due to the strong prosecution presented by the District Prosecutor’s office and relentless efforts of the investigation team, the case reached its logical conclusion in a record time of only 11 months.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Hamdani, commended SSP Investigation Rao Anwar, DSP Legal, the entire investigation team, and the prosecution branch for their outstanding performance.
“This death sentence is a victory of justice and a testament to the professional excellence of Rawalpindi Police,” CPO said.
