PESHAWAR, Jun 11 (APP):Federal Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Wednesday extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of the former FATA and PATA regions on the continuation of tax exemptions in the Federal Budget 2025–26.
In a statement issued here, the minister expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, cabinet members, and especially Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, for maintaining the tax relief as per his request.
He said that the decision reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the underdeveloped areas of the country.
Engineer Muqam noted that no new taxes have been imposed on the residents of the former FATA and PATA areas, except for a 10pc sales tax on imported goods at the port, which he termed a “welcome and commendable step.”
He emphasized that Pakistan Muslim League (N) has consistently prioritized the development, prosperity, and welfare of backward regions, and this move is a continuation of that inclusive vision.
“This decision is not only a matter of economic relief but also a recognition of the unique challenges faced by the people of the merged districts,” he added.
