Multan-Lodhran road rehabilitation nearing completion
MULTAN, Sep 27 (APP):Commissioner Multan Amir Kareem Khan on Sunday visited the under-construction Multan-Lodhran Road and reviewed the pace and quality of the ongoing construction work.
He was briefed on the progress of the 62-kilometer road project, being executed at a cost of Rs.4.5 billion and scheduled for completion by January 2027.
The commissioner directed the contractors to accelerate the pace of work and ensure completion of the project within the stipulated time-frame.
He made it clear that no compromise would be tolerated on the quality of construction and directed that all work be carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and prescribed standards.
Amir Kareem Khan also inspected the construction material at the site and directed the authorities concerned to ensure preparation of a standard road base in line with the ground level while maintaining the existing road level.
He ordered immediate marking of the central median and directed that tree plantation continue alongside the construction work.
Different sites have been identified for plantation along the 62-kilometer stretch, he was told.
The commissioner directed that periodic inspections of the construction work continue and ordered construction of drains along the road for effective disposal of rainwater.
He also directed the authorities to ensure installation of median barriers and curb stones to improve road safety and enhance its overall appearance.
