SIALKOT, Jul 24 (APP):Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) Muhammad Manshaullah Butt and Chaudhry Faisal Ikram, along with the officials of Dawat-e-Islami Sialkot, formally launched an environmentally friendly activity by planting saplings on the green belts of Imam Sahib Road.
Regional scholars, volunteers, and citizens of Dawat-e-Islami also participated in large numbers on this occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, MPA Muhammad Manshaullah Butt said that climate change, temperature rise and unbalanced weather are actually the result of deforestation and environmental imbalance. He said that if we do not play our role in tree plantation and protection of the environment today, future generations will have to bear the serious consequences.
He added that planting saplings is not only a national but also a religious duty. Islam teaches us to love nature and make the earth green. Every citizen should plant his share of trees and take care of them himself. Manshaullah Butt said that the current government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is implementing a comprehensive strategy for environmental protection, in which public participation is of key importance.
Dawat-e-Islami leaders said that their organization is planting millions of trees across the country under the Madani Environment Campaign to make Pakistan green and lush. Finally, the participants planted saplings together and pledged to take responsibility for their protection.
