LAHORE, Jul 23 (APP):A most-wanted bandit, carrying a bounty of Rs 5 million on his head, surrendered to Rahim Yar Khan police with five accomplices during a targeted operation
in the Katcha area.
According to a police spokesperson, the surrender was a result of an intensified crackdown
on criminals in the riverine region. The operation forced the notorious outlaw, Qurban Lathani, to lay down arms after being encircled by security forces.
The five accomplices who surrendered with him include Jahangir Dashti, Hakeem Dashti, Rafiq Lathani, Azam Lathani and Abubakar Umrani. They were allegedly involved in multiple cases of heinous crimes, including robbery, kidnapping, and murder.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar praised efforts of the Rahim Yar Khan police, calling the surrender a major step toward restoring peace and curbing criminal activity in the Katcha region.
