PESHAWAR, Jul 22 (APP):Mock exercises were conducted by Rescue 1122 Swat using modern drones to deal with the ongoing monsoon rains and possible flood situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Spokesperson of Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bilal Ahmed Faizi said that the aim of these exercises was to test the preparedness of Rescue 1122 staff and the effective use of modern technology in a monsoon emergency.
During these exercises, experiments were conducted on lifting weights and other modern technical processes using drones.
According to initial information, these drones are capable of lifting weights up to 100 kilograms, however, this is currently an experimental stage and the final results will be confirmed only after complete testing.
If the desired results are achieved, more drones will also be acquired to make the emergency response faster and more effective.
These exercises were conducted at emergency points on the banks of the Swat River, where two modern drones were used.
Special attention was paid to aspects such as aerial surveillance, delivery of relief supplies, and access to difficult areas through these drones.
These exercises were carried out on the special instructions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Bilal said that if better results are achieved through drone technology, special training of Rescue 1122 personnel will also be started soon so that further improvement in rescue operations can be brought about by utilizing these modern means.
Currently, emergency camps have been set up on the banks of the Swat River, patrolling is ongoing and rescue personnel are on full alert with modern equipment.
Rescue 1122 has appealed to the public to call 1122 immediately in case of bad weather or any emergency situation and get help.
