Mobile lab returns after 62-day mission in flood-hit Buner

PESHAWAR, Oct 24 (APP):Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahidullah Khan has termed the deployment of the mobile laboratory in flood-affected Buner district a timely and impactful move that significantly supported local health facilities in delivering accurate diagnoses.
He stated that the mobile lab operated in Buner for 62 days, during which it conducted over 10,100 public health laboratory investigations.
These included Complete Blood Count (CBC), tests for malaria, dengue, blood and stool cultures, hepatitis, and other viral infections commonly seen after natural disasters.
According to Secretary Khan, the mobile lab worked in close coordination with district hospitals, the District Health Office, and mobile clinics to ensure timely and reliable diagnostic services for the affected population.
He emphasized that such interventions are crucial in post-disaster scenarios to prevent disease outbreaks and strengthen healthcare delivery.
He added that the Health Department remains committed to deploying responsive and innovative solutions to safeguard public health in times of crisis.
