FAISALABAD, Jul 05 (APP):Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat has visited the Clock Tower Chowk here on Saturday night and reviewed the security arrangements made for the safety of mourners on Ashura day.
During visit, the minister interacted with the mourners and inspected a Sabeel , tasting the sherbet to ensure quality standards.
He directed the Punjab Food Authority to conduct continuous testing of water and beverages being distributed during mourning processions.
He also visited Central Imam Bargah Shabiriyah where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retired) Nadeem Nisar and City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar briefed him about security and administrative measures in place.
The minister appreciated the close coordination among all departments and praised the collaboration of procession license holders, Majalis organizers and members of peace committee.
He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government has made exemplary arrangements to maintain peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
He directed the divisional and district-level officers to ensure their presence in the field throughout Ashura to monitor operations closely.
He highlighted the importance of stakeholder collaboration and said that peaceful observance of Ashura could be ensured through joint efforts.
He also inspected the control room established at Deputy Commissioner’s office and observed operations in real-time.
Divisional Commissioner Madam Maryam Khan also briefed the minister and said that all security and administrative preparations for Ashura have been completed across the division. Divisional and district-level officials were deployed in the field to handle any situation proactively, she added.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Zeeshan Asghar and others were also present on the occasion.
