LAHORE, Jun 05 (APP):Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has announced that Level-4 cancer patients will also receive treatment at the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research (NSICT&R), which is set to become the largest cancer hospital in Asia.
The minister made this announcement while chairing a meeting at King Edward Medical University on Thursday. The meeting reviewed the procurement of advanced medical equipment for the NSICT&R. A detailed briefing was presented by the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) team on the progress of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that “historic and fundamental steps” are being taken in the health sector under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. “Insha Allah, world-class facilities will be provided to patients in this cancer hospital,” he added.
The minister emphasized the significance of the NSICT&R, stating that it will provide comprehensive cancer treatment, including services for Level-4 patients, which are often the most critical.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University Professor Mahmood Ayaz, Professor Muhammad Imran, Professor Asghar Naqi, Professor Abbas Khokhar, and members of the IDAP team.
