LAHORE, Aug 09 (APP):Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Sohail Shaukat Butt on Friday visited Murree to review the Himmat card registration process at various points.
According to a handout issued here, he visited Trait, Sambli Tajal and Ghora Galli and reviewed the Himmat card registration process in detail. He inquired about the registration of card from the disabled persons and their parents.
Talking on the occasion, the minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was the voice of the oppressed class. According to the directions of the Punjab CM, the process of Himmat card registration had spread to the Union Council level. He said the government would take more steps for the welfare of disabled people. The provincial minister said that out of 4 lakh disabled people, 1 lakh 50 thousand people cannot write.
The process of registration of Himmat card was going on across Punjab. After the record was compiled, monthly financial assistance of 10,500 rupees would be available to persons with disabilities, he added and told that he was visiting various registration points of Punjab in order to maintain the standard of transparency. Registration for Himmat card registration could be done during office hours at Social Welfare Department offices and helpline number 1312, the minister said.
Director Social Welfare Rawalpindi Rana Shahid and other officers were also present.
