Minister orders timely completion of welfare projects
LAHORE, Apr 04 (APP):Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Sohail Shaukat Butt on Saturday ordered for timely completion of all public welfare projects and stressed transparency in departmental operations to maximise benefits for deserving individuals.
He was chairing a meeting to review the overall performance of the Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Mal Department. The meeting was attended by Secretary Social Welfare Saira Umar, DG Dr. Shehnshah Faisal Azeem, and other senior officials.
During the briefing, Secretary Social Welfare Saira Umar apprised the meeting about departmental performance, ongoing programs, and welfare initiatives. The performance of NGOs, Bait-ul-Mal programs, and Sanatzars was also reviewed in detail.
The minister was further informed about the functioning of Medical Social Services Units and progress on Chief Minister’s flagship welfare initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable segments of society.
Sohail Shaukat Butt stressed that all welfare projects must be completed within stipulated timelines and with full transparency to ensure effective delivery of services. He directed officials to focus special attention on the welfare of women, children, and persons with disabilities, ensuring that their needs are addressed on a priority basis.
He reiterated that the government was committed to strengthening the social protection network and improving institutional efficiency to extend maximum relief to the underprivileged sections of society.
