Minister Mujtaba chairs Socio-Political Steering/Review Committee meeting

LAHORE, Oct 21 (APP):A high-level meeting of the Socio-Political Steering/Review Committee, constituted under the Revised National Action Plan (R-NAP) 2021, was held here at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.
The meeting was chaired by Provincial Minister for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman. Senior officials, including the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, and representatives from the Home Department, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department, and other concerned departments attended the session.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress made at the provincial level on various actions and initiatives taken under the Revised National Action Plan.
Participants were briefed on measures concerning counter-extremism, counter-terrorism, promotion of social harmony, youth engagement, and institutional coordination among departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government is fully committed to advancing the agenda of peace, tolerance, and inclusive development across Punjab. “Our foremost priority is to build a peaceful and cohesive Punjab where every citizen feels secure and empowered. Government of Punjab is ensuring stronger coordination among departments to achieve the objectives of the Revised National Action Plan — a shared national commitment to security, unity, and social stability,” he added.
The Provincial Minister directed all concerned departments to intensify their ongoing efforts for social resilience, youth empowerment, promotion of interfaith harmony, and eradication of extremism.
The Finance Minister reiterated that success of Revised National Action Plan is crucial for Pakistan’s sustainable peace and long-term prosperity, assuring that Punjab will continue to play a leading role in fulfilling this national responsibility.
Concluding the meeting, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman expressed satisfaction over the progress made in strengthening law and order and countering extremist tendencies in the province. He commended the joint efforts of all departments, stating that collective institutional action is vital to ensuring a safe, peaceful, and prosperous Punjab.
