MULTAN, Nov 17 (APP): Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the flood-affected section of the motorway in Jalalpur Pirwala on Monday to review the ongoing restoration efforts and assess the progress made so far.
During his visit, the minister was briefed in detail by officials and field staff about the extent of the damage caused by the floodwaters, the current pace of repair work, and the various stages of restoration underway. He personally examined the affected portions of the motorway and stressed the urgency of completing essential work without delay.
Abdul Aleem Khan directed the authorities to expedite the rehabilitation process to minimize disruption to public travel. He emphasized that swift action in flood-hit areas is crucial and reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to supporting flood-affected communities.
The minister underlined that the restoration of infrastructure in disaster-stricken regions remains a top priority for the government, stressing that ensuring safe and convenient travel for the public must take precedence. He instructed the administration to uphold strict quality standards throughout the rehabilitation process, warning that any negligence or substandard practices would not be tolerated.
Abdul Aleem Khan further directed that all necessary machinery, materials, and workforce be mobilized efficiently to ensure the motorway is fully restored in the shortest time possible.
Officials accompanying the minister assured him that the project would be completed within the set timeline, and the damaged section of the motorway would soon be reopened for traffic following the completion of repairs.
