LAHORE, Oct 24 (APP):Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora visited Nankana Sahib where he inaugurated the newly constructed block of Christian Girls High School Martinpur.
Later, the minister, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao, visited Gurdwara Janam Asthan and reviewed the ongoing renovation and restoration works.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Shahid Khokhar, Sardar Surjeet Singh Kanwal and other officers were also present on the occasion. Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora and Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar welcomed Sikh pilgrims arriving from abroad at Gurdwara Janam Asthan. The Minister interacted with the pilgrims and inquired about the facilities provided, to which they expressed satisfaction.
During the visit, the Minister and accompanying officers reviewed security arrangements, accommodation and other facilities for the pilgrims.
The provincial minister informed that the 556th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak will continue across Pakistan from November 4 to 13, while the main ceremonies at Nankana Sahib will be held from November 4 to 6, with thousands of Sikh pilgrims from around the world expected to participate.
Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said that Pakistan has always promoted religious harmony, tolerance and interfaith brotherhood.
He added that Pakistan opened the Kartarpur Corridor for Indian devotees as a gesture of peace and goodwill but regretted that India continues to politicize religious matters and spread negative propaganda to discourage Sikh pilgrims from visiting Pakistan.
The Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan’s soil carries the message of love, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence.
