PESHAWAR, Jul 10 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Agriculture, Sajjad Barkwal on Wednesday highlighted the vital role water on human health, food security, basic needs and energy production and said that governments around the world are concerned about impacts of climate change on water resources.
He was addressing the opening session of a National Workshop on High Efficiency Irrigation System in a local hotel.
Workshop was attended by Director General on Farm Water Management KP Hayat Khan, experts related to irrigation and agriculture, representatives of World Bank and FIO.
The minister said that policy makers round the globe are concerned about effects of climate change on water resources and lives of people. He appreciated performance of On Farm Water Management KP and the management is working day and night for timely completion of ongoing projects.
He also urged participants and experts to guide by formulating suitable recommendations for timely achievement of the goals.
