Minister distributes awards to newly appointed teachers

HYDERABAD, Sep 18 (APP):The Caretaker Sindh Education and Literacy Minister Rana Hussain has urged the newly appointed teachers to pursue their degree courses in education to earn a professional license for the profession of teaching.
This she said while addressing the award distribution ceremony for high achieving teachers in the Initial Professional Development Programme, organized by Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority (STEDA) here at Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium Hall on Monday.
She said Sindh is the only province which has created STEDA in order to provide teaching licenses which should meet the international standard criteria for teachers. She asked the teachers to become eager learners as it is just the start of their journey as teaching is itself a life-long learning process.
She emphasized all newly appointed teachers should prepare for their degree programmes adding that those who already had 14 years and 16 years education should pursue their degree in education appearing in five and three semesters respectively.
She said the present caretaker provincial government fully believed in public and private partnership adding that it would take all stakeholders together to improve the education system of Sindh.
The Chief Curriculum Adviser Dr. Fozia Khan said the teachers need to be committed to their profession and we are here today to work on a one-point agenda to improve the quality of education. She said that it was high time to invest in education to meet the new technological era compatibility as the government has to create the best teachers in our education system for the better future of our children.
