PESHAWAR, Jul 16 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Arshad Ayub on Wednesday chaired a meeting hete to review progress on the implementation of the Financial Integrated Management System (FIMS).
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Local Government, relevant departmental officials, and representatives from the World Bank. During the session, the Secretary presented a progress report on the decisions made in the previous meeting.
After its successful implementation in Punjab, the FIMS is now being introduced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, initially as a pilot project. On this occasion, the Minister directed the formation of a team to visit Punjab and finalize all necessary matters regarding the system so that it can be rolled out across all districts of KP in collaboration with the Finance Department.
The Minister emphasized that the system should be fully implemented by June 2026. He stated that the system would help save human resources, bring transparency, and reduce time wastage.
The Secretary of Local Government briefed the attendees, noting that the system is currently in its early stages, with work on Phase I progressing rapidly. Once operational, the system will digitize and secure all data of the Local Government Department, marking a significant milestone in the province’s development.
Minister Arshad Ayub expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and thanked the World Bank representatives for their continued support.
