LAHORE, Jun 30 (APP):The Punjab Communication and Works (C&W) Department is continuing round-the-clock construction on major infrastructure projects across the province, with work on roads, underpasses and overhead bridges progressing during both daytime and nighttime to ensure their timely completion.
Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the progress of development schemes, during which officials briefed him on the 93.5-kilometre Multan-Vehari Road Project launched under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz for the people of South Punjab. The meeting was informed that construction work on the project was advancing rapidly during night hours as well.
Officials said quality inspection of construction materials and workmanship was being carried out simultaneously, with dedicated teams conducting regular checks at various points of the project to ensure compliance with prescribed standards.
The minister directed the authorities concerned to complete the Multan-Vehari Road Project within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high construction quality.
Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said major development projects across Punjab were being executed on a round-the-clock basis. He said field formations of the C&W Department were also carrying out road construction and rehabilitation under the Local Road Programme during nighttime hours.
Referring to the Rawalpindi Signal-Free Corridor Project, the minister said it had been completed within 179 days through continuous day-and-night construction. He added that Punjab was making rapid progress in infrastructure development under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and the timely completion of all road projects remained the government’s foremost priority
