PESHAWAR, Aug 03 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur has strictly instructed the local bodies and municipal authorities to fully participate in relief operations in flood affected areas.
He also directed them to provide full support to relief and rescue agencies engaged in the process, besides making foolproof arrangements for effectively dealing with any further calamity and controlling its negative impacts and losses of the people and properties.
He was this while addressing a review meeting on monsoon arrangements at the Local Government Secretariat here. The meeting was attended by Secretary LG Syed Zaheerul Islam Shah, members of Local Council Board, officials of TMAs, WSSCs, Area Development Authorities and other relevant sections and departments.
The meeting took stock of the flood situation across the province including the merged districts, especially the damages and effects of urban flooding.
