Militant attack DPO North Waziristan in Bannu, six injured

PESHAWAR, Nov 03 (APP):Militants launched an armed attack on the convoy of District Police Officer (DPO) North Waziristan, Waqar Ahmed, near Mumash Khel in the jurisdiction of Cantonment Police Station, District Bannu on Monday.

According to initial reports, DPO Waqar Ahmed sustained a bullet injury to his finger during the exchange of fire.

Five members of the DPO’s security squad were also injured in the attack. All the injured have been shifted to DHQ Hospital, Bannu for medical treatment.

Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers.
