South Waziristan, Jul 26 (APP): The Mehsud Press Club delegation, headed by President Farooq Mahsud, met with Major General Haroon Hameed Chaudhry, IG FC South, in Wana to discuss the issues faced by journalists in the region.
The delegation highlighted difficulties encountered by journalists in South Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan, and proposed potential solutions.
Major General Haroon Hameed acknowledged the vital role journalists play in society, ensuring that the community remains informed. He assured that FC South is committed to supporting journalists, allowing them to work without any fear or hindrance in the region. He also stressed the importance of combating misinformation and disinformation, praising the initiatives taken by the Mehsud Press Club in this regard.
The IG FC South urged journalists to promote the region’s beauty, traditions, and tourism opportunities, highlighting the positive aspects of South Waziristan through their reporting. He emphasized that such efforts could contribute to the region’s development and prosperity.
In appreciation of Major General Haroon Hameed’s support, particularly in the construction of the Mehsud Press Club building in Ladha, the delegation presented him with a souvenir and expressed their gratitude.
