Meeting reviews progress on implementation of KP cabinet decisions

PESHAWAR, Oct 14 (APP):A meeting held here with KP Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in the chair on Monday reviewed progress on the decisions made in the provincial cabinet so far.
The concerned authorities told the participants of the meeting that so far, the provincial cabinet has hold 15 meetings and a total of 319 decision have been made. Out of these decisions 242 have been implemented and 77 decisions was in progress.
During those meetings 19 decisions were made regarding Finance Department while 34, 27 and 28 decisions were regarding law, education and local governments departments respectively.
The provincial cabinet has approved the creation of 2564 new vacancies and also released an amount of Rs.8.5 billion for provision financial assistance to deserving people under Special Ramazan Package. Similarly, the creation of 1356 new vacancies have also been approved for the strengthening of the police force.
An amount of Rs 600 million have been released for procurement of armoured vehicles for police and 698 new vacancies for traffic police.
The cabinet has also increased the share of the royalty of the oil and gas producing districts from 10% to 15% and 479 new vacancies for the elementary and secondary education sector.
Furthermore, an amount of about Rs.470 million has been approved in grant-in-aid for three cadet colleges of the merged districts while another amount of about Rs.240 million has been released for ‘Education for All Programme’ in the merged districts and Rs.1.5 billion for grant-in-aid for the public sector universities.
For Health Card Programme, a fund of Rs.5 billion has been released till March of the current financial year and Rs.450 million in head of ration for the temporarily displaced people of North Waziristan.
The cabinet has also approved Debt Management Fund for guaranteeing better financial management while Minerals Development and Management Company has also been established for the best utilization of the natural resources.
The cabinet has also approved the release of funds to the tone of Rs.720 million for Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) of both settled and merged districts.
The cost of Shakai Dam in South Waziristan has been increased from Rs.870 million to up to Rs.1.69 billion and the monthly wages of the labourers has also been increased from Rs.32000/- to Rs.36000/- per month.
