RAWALPINDI, Oct 20 (APP): A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi to review progress on the Green Bus Service project being launched in the hilly station under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The meeting was attended by Member of the National Assembly Raja Osama Ashfaq Sarwar and Member of the Punjab Assembly Bilal Yamin Satti. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Murree Umar Owais Kayani, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Kamran Sagheer, Assistant Commissioner Murree Faisal Ahmad Sahib and officers from other relevant departments were also present.
During the meeting, officials from the Transport Department and other agencies concerned gave a detailed briefing on the proposed routes, operational facilities, public benefits, and environmental aspects of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shirazi said that under the visionary leadership of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the launch of the Green Bus Service in a tourist destination like Murree would not only improve environmental conditions but also provide citizens and tourists with better, comfortable, and eco-friendly transport facilities.
The project, he added, would play a key role in promoting tourism in the region.
The deputy commissioner directed all relevant departments to complete the project on a priority basis and ensure immediate progress on public awareness, traffic management, infrastructure, and other necessary arrangements.
