BAHAWALPUR, Jun 10 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Dr Farhan Farooq presided over a review meeting regarding traffic management here on Tuesday.
The deputy commissioner stated that measures should be taken to widen the city’s busy intersections and improve service roads to reduce traffic problems.
The deputy commissioner directed the officers to take steps to solve traffic problems in the city and keep the traffic flowing on roads.
He also directed to formulate a traffic management policy using the available resources in a better way in this regard.
The deputy commissioner said that relevant departments should take coordinated steps for the construction and development of the city, making it green and lush, and controlling unorganized urban sprawl and traffic problems.
On this occasion, District Police Officer Muhammad Hassan Iqbal said that parents should never allow underage children to drive cars or motorcycles. Strict action should be taken against those driving without a license and at high speed.
He said that all possible steps would be used to protect precious human lives, and an awareness campaign would be conducted at every level to raise awareness among citizens about safe driving.
