Medical expert warns of health risks during monsoon

SARGODHA, Jul 25 (APP):Medical specialist Dr Umar Hayat urged the citizens to exercise caution in their food and drink choices during the monsoon season.
Talking to APP here on Thursday, he emphasized that poor hygiene practices, particularly related to food and water,and increased presence of flies and mosquitoes during this time could lead to outbreaks of diseases such as cholera and malaria,so it was crucial for everyone to be vigilant.
The medical expert recommended that all fruits and vegetables should be thoroughly washed before consumption.
He also stressed the importance of storing food and drinks in covered containers.
Dr. Hayat further cautioned citizens to limit their outdoor exposure during hot weather, suggesting that people should wear hats and drink plenty of clean, cool water.
“By taking simple precautions, we can significantly reduce our risk of falling ill during the monsoon season,” he added.
Dr.Umar Hayat said health authorities across the country were working to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining good hygiene practices to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases.
