MD PHA wants no green belt of city without grass, plants

LAHORE, Nov 19 (APP):Managing Director PHA Lahore Raja Mansoor Ahmad on Wednesday directed zonal directors to make sure, not a single green belt be without grass or plants and ensure daily maintenance.
He said that weekly mass plantation drives will be carried out across the city.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of PHA directors held here at Head office.
Senior PHA officers, including Zeeshan Nasrullah Ranjha, Directors Ahmad Saeed Manj, Farah Adeeba, Naeem Afzal, and other horticulture directors were also present.
The MD stated that the Chief Minister had issued clear instructions to significantly increase the number of trees and plants in Lahore.
He directed that no park should have stagnant water and no green belt should appear without proper grass cover. Zonal directors were instructed to share daily progress reports, ensure park cleanliness, enhance horticulture work, and regularly monitor staff attendance.
Raja Mansoor Ahmad further informed the meeting that the divisional and district administration of Lahore will actively participate in the plantation campaign.
The commissioner and deputy commissioner Lahore will also be invited as special guests during the plantation drives.
He directed the Director Engineering to ensure that all water pumps used for irrigation remain fully functional. Any pump that is beyond repair must be replaced immediately. He also instructed the department to promptly identify areas for plantation and ensure an adequate supply of plants for the campaign.
