MULTAN, Dec 06 (APP): Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) President Mian Bakhtawar Tanvir Sheikh has demanded immediate implementation of the Industrial Incremental Relief Package for reduction in electricity bills, announced by the prime minister for November 2025 and onward.
Despite the clear announcement made by the PM to provide much-needed relief on electricity bills for the industrial sector, the promised reduction has not been reflected in the bills to date. The business and industrial community had wholeheartedly welcomed the prime minister’s announcement, as it offered a ray of hope amid severe economic challenges,” stated Mian Bakhtawar.
He stated that the industrial sector was already grappling with multiple hurdles, including high energy tariffs, rising raw material costs, and shrinking export competitiveness, and urged the prime minister, federal minister for Energy (Power Division), and relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure the announced relief package is implemented without further delay. He also called for the immediate withdrawal of the additional Rs. 2 per unit charge imposed in the November 2025 bills.
The Chamber appealed to the government to honour its commitment and provide the promised relief without any further delay so that the industrial sector could breathe a sigh of relief and contribute more effectively to national economic growth, said a press release issued here on Saturday.
