Mayor of Karachi taken into confidence, all issues addressed: Raja Ansari

KARACHI, Nov 24 (APP):Spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for Sindh, Barrister Raja Khaliq uz Zaman Ansari on Monday said that the Mayor of Karachi was taken into confidence following the resolutions to issues pertaining to traffic flow, drainage, pedestrian bridges and so on under PIDCL.
While addressing a press conference along with the Mayor of Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, and MQM- Pakistan MNA Aminul Haque regarding the Green Line Project at Green Line Common Corridor, denying the political scoring and point scoring he said that the Mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, was worried about the Karachiites and keeping in view that they had addressed the issues.
He said that the starting point of Green Line Project was Surjani and ending point was Municipal Park in Saddar. He said that it was a 21.5-kilometre project and the remaining work on it would be completed.
Ansari remarked that the Prime Minister was an open-hearted person. He said that the federal government would provide funds for the development of the province, including the city.
The Spokesman said that 64 percent work had been done on K-IV and it would be completed by 2026.
Mayor of Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said they were moving towards a revolution. He said that all stakeholders had to work together for the development of the city.
Wahab said that he had a meeting with the officials of PIDCL and they gave assurance to him that the project would be completed by October 2026.
He said that the federal, provincial governments, and KMC as well as PIDCL could all together resolve issues of projects to bring prosperity to the lives of the common man.
He further said that they were in favour of development and the reason for sharing reservations was only to put things correct.
Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister, Wahab said that the metropolis needed projects like the Green Line Project.
MQM MNA Aminul Haque said that the big stakeholders of the city were on the same page.
He said that the foundation stone of the 18 kilometre green line project was laid in 2017 by the then Prime Minister Main Nawaz Sharif and 1.9 kilometre expansion of the project was underway. He said that they would bring funds for the city.
He said that MQM-Pakistan was voicing for the provision of rights to Mayors, including the Mayor of Karachi.
