Massive deception of public continues in name of change in KP: Ikhtiar Wali

PESHAWAR, Jan 12 (APP):Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ikhtiar Wali Khan, on Monday claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was currently trapped in a political mirage where, in the name of change, nothing but destruction exists, and behind flashy advertisements lies the worst kind of corruption.
“Those who claim 13 years of rule have pushed the province to a point where hospitals have no beds, bureaucracy has no merit, and the public has no justice. A disgraceful game is being played in which state resources are being used against the state itself, holding the entire provincial system hostage,” he further claimed.
Addressing a press conference here, Ikhtiar Wali Khan said that unfortunately Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has become the province where governance practically does not exist and administration has completely collapsed.
He alleged that corruption is at its peak, yet the ruling party does not even consider it corruption. Crimes, smuggling, and mismanagement are also not being acknowledged as crimes.
He said all these issues are being given a political colour to portray prisoner number 804 as a victim, whereas the real questions should be asked of those who have been in power for the past 13 years. They should be asked what new university or hospital they built in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They cite old hospitals that were constructed long before they themselves were born.
He claimed that mismanagement in the province has reached such an extreme that PMS officers are now pleading to be transferred to the federation or Punjab, because hefty bribes are required for postings here.
“The more money one pays, the more attractive the posting one gets. There is no place for honest officers. A marketplace of lies has been set up where, through social media, even wrongdoings are presented as masterpieces,” he said.
For instance, he said for the past 11 years there has been loud propaganda about senior citizens’ cards, but in reality not a single card has been issued to date.
Ikhtair  Wali said that the health card, which they claim to be their greatest achievement, has in fact become a major vault of corruption.
“Only 10 to 15 percent of the benefit reaches the public, while 90 percent of the money is swallowed by the ruling clique and the elite. Unnecessary surgeries are being carried out in hospitals merely to extract money,” he claimed.
He said the condition of public hospitals is such that poor patients die on the streets while waiting for ICU beds.
He said that people who had no financial standing in 2013 have today become billionaires. Those who once did not even have five thousand rupees now proudly display assets worth 22 billion rupees.
He alleged major hotels in Peshawar have been bought by former ministers who have no other source of income. All this money belongs to the public and is now being spent on polishing false popularity through social media.
Ikhtair Wali said junior officers are occupying key positions after paying bribes worth millions, while capable and deserving individuals have been sidelined.
