LAHORE, Nov 27 (APP): A sessions court on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering a ride-share driver over a fare dispute.
In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 on the convict, Muhammad Shehzad Latif.
The verdict was delivered by Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Najaf Haider Kazmi, who ruled that the prosecution had successfully established the charge of murder.
The case was registered in 2024 at Nishtar Colony Police Station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. According to the prosecution, the accused shot and killed Ghaffarullah Khan following a minor argument over fare.
The suspect was arrested through fingerprint evidence, and 11 witnesses testified against him. Deputy District Public Prosecutor Saleem Shehzad presented the prosecution’s evidence and statements during the trial.
