RAWALPINDI, Dec 26 (APP): The Civil Lines Police arrested a man accused of harassing a woman and threatening to kill her, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Friday.
According to the spokesman, the woman lodged a complaint alleging that the suspect subjected her to verbal abuse, attempted to assault her and issued death threats. Acting promptly on the complaint, the Civil Lines Police registered a case and took the suspect into custody.
The spokesman said the arrested man would be challaned with solid evidence in accordance with the law.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Talha Wali said that violence, harassment and abuse against women and children were absolutely intolerable and would be dealt with strictly.
He reiterated that the Rawalpindi Police were committed to providing protection to vulnerable segments of society and ensuring swift legal action against those involved in such crimes.
Investigation into the case was underway, the spokesman added.
